GP2 Series teams made a new collective test session at the Paul Ricard HTTT to work on car set ups: aerodynamics, engine... depending on team's objectives.

The 26 cars on track used the 2D track solution (4.150 km), used once by GP2 Series in April 2005. Andreas Zuber (iSport International) set the overall best lap time in 01: 17.385 and improved the 2005 Nelson Piquet Jr's record by 2 seconds.

During these two test days, teams enjoyed summer weather with a top temperature of 31C in air and 43C on track, and completed over 12,700 km.

Ernesto Viso, coming back in GP2 Series to replace Antonio Pizzonia (Petrol Ofisi FMS International) has been penalised because he gained an unfair advantage by using several times the run-off at the Hairpin Turn. His 3 fastest laps have been deleted.

Next races: Magny-Cours (France) on June 30th and July 1st Next test session at the Paul Ricard HTTT: from 30th of October to 2nd of November 2007.
