Drivers prepare Magny-Cours

The GP2 Series teams completed today their last 2006 test session at the Paul Ricard HTTT. During the 2 days, drivers used the 3D track solution (3,853 km) with good weather conditions and hot temperatures.

This test session allowed the 13 teams and 26 drivers to prepare not only the coming Magny-Cours meeting (16th and 17th July) in good conditions, but also the rest of the season as test days are very limited. Drivers did essentially race simulations at the Paul Ricard HTTT competing nearly 12700 km during 2 days. Thanks to the particular concept of the run-offs and the lightening system of the Paul Ricard HTTT, the test days were totally optimised as only very few incidents interrupted the session.

The best lap time set by José Maria Lopez (Super Nova International) in 1:13.728. Nevertheless Argentinian driver didn't improve his own overall best lap time on this same track solution (01.12.547, March 2006).

iSport International confirmed their good results from the two races in Silverstone, realising the 3rd and 5th best lap times of the session.

Because the 26 drivers set very closed times, the second part of the season promises to be very exciting...
