Overall best lap time for Jose Maria Lopez

The 13 teams of the GP2 Series met at the Paul Ricard for two days to work on the last set-ups to prepare the 2006 season.

During this second session of the year at the Paul Ricard HTTT, the cars were fit out with slick tyres and had the new 2006 rear wing configuration.

If Thursday's best time was set by French Alexandre Premat in 1:12.887 (ART Grand Prix) on the 3D track solution (3,853 Km), Argentinian driver Jose Maria Lopez (Supernova) realised today the overall best GP2 lap time on this same track solution in 1:12.547. He overthrew Brit driver Lewis Hamilton, holder of the fastest lap on the 3D solution track at Paul Ricard HTTT (1:12.838 - ART Grand Prix).

During these two test days, the drivers and their team-managers had a good weather conditions (sun and clouds, track solution of 19C on Friday) and completed 11 948 Km.

With eight drivers in the same second, the lap times realised during the session at Paul Ricard HTTT gave a good view on an exciting 2006 season for GP2 series which will begin in Valencia next April 8th.
