PATRIZI PUMPED FOR RETURN TO GP2 TESTING

Australian racing talent Michael Patrizi will resume testing with GP2 Series team David Price Racing next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Paul Ricard circuit in France.

The 22-year-old became the first Australian to drive a GP2 car when he piloted the #20 DPR machine over two days at Paul Ricard on October 7 and 8, learning a huge amount as he adapted from Formula BMW and Atlantic cars to the awesome 580-horsepower GP2 machines, which represent one step below Formula One.

Next week Patrizi will be able to push right from the outset of the two days of official testing, having learned a lot about the high downforce, high horsepower machines earlier this month.

The Kalgoorlie-born driver will again be aiming to absorb as much as he can from the DPR engineers over the two days, as well as push to get more speed out of new tyres at the high speed layout.

WHAT HE HAD TO SAY --

Michael Patrizi -- #20 David Price Racing

"I'm looking forward to getting back in a GP2 car next week," said Patrizi.

"I've got to thank David Price for having faith in me and inviting me back for further testing. I am confident that I will make improvement and build on everything I learnt at my first test.

"The two days I did with DPR at Paul Ricard went really well and I learned a huge amount from the DPR engineers.

"I know exactly which areas I have to improve in and I am looking forward to pushing harder and learning even more on these two days.

"This time around I get into a GP2 car already knowing what to expect. Jumping into a GP2 car for the first time after racing in categories with a lot less power was a massive jump but one that was extremely beneficial.

"On this occasion I will not have to adjust to the horsepower and grip, so I can really push and see what the car is capable of around the fantastic Paul Ricard circuit. I'm excited just talking about it."
