SOLID RUNNING FROM DPR DRIVERS IN NURBURGRING GP2

David Price Racing (DPR) with drivers, Andy Soucek and Christian Bakkerud, worked hard to improve on yesterday's Feature race performances in the Sprint race at the European Formula One Grand Prix supporting GP2 Series event in Nurburgring, Germany today. With Soucek finishing in 13th place and Bakkerud in 18th place, the DPR team recorded two solid performances from the young drivers and were relieved to have completed the race distance with both cars.

Soucek continued to demonstrate his ability to attack off the line with another strong start as the red lights went out on the grid. He passed thre rivals in the run down to the first corner and was running in 17th place by lap two. He was able to gain another place in the first half of the sprint and improved to 15th in the closing stages, to finish in this position at the chequered flag.

Bakkerud also gained positions at the start and having started in 24th place was lying in 20th position after the first lap of racing. An off course excursion for the Dane in the early stages dropped him back, but he was able to recover as the race progressed, to finish 20th after the 24 laps of the Sprint event.

Soucek reflected, "I had a top ten pace, so that was good, but it's also frustrating as if we had started nearer the front we might have been able to convert that into a stronger result. I had hoped for a better weekend here in Germany, but I'll keep pushing for a points finish and improvement in our overall performance."

Bakkerud added, "It was a tough race for me. I felt that the engine was losing power and we just didn't have the straight line speed to overtake, so that made it very difficult. Not having the race distance experience from yesterday also added to the challenge and put us on the back foot, but we did make it to the finish."

David Price, Team Principal, David Price Racing, added, "It was a better day for DPR with both drivers reaching the finish and running at a solid pace. Andy had a good run today and I hope that he can carry this momentum through to Hungary. Christian had bad luck earlier in the weekend and that shaped his race today. He stayed focused despite having to start from so far back and was able to finish six places better than his starting spot."

The seventh round of the 2007 GP2 Series will bring the teams and drivers together in Budapest, Hungary at the Hungarian Formula One Grand Prix in two weeks time, from 3-5 August.
