Good wekend in GP for Edoardo Piscopo

Edoardo Piscopo experienced a positive weekend at Monza, as the Rome-based driver made his GP2 Main Series debut on his home round. Despite suffering from a contact by another car in practice, and by the following qualifying woes, Edoardo cruised to a points finish on Race 1. As a result, he made his way to a spot on the front row for the Race 2, providing an even more positive outcome for the weekend. Only at his second start in the GP2 Main Series, Edoardo lost a couple of spots, and started battling his way up immediately. On lap 3 though, his Dallara was hit from behind at the first chicane, ending his day for good.

Edoardo Piscopo

"I wasn't expecting to make a great start, as I'm still not used to the GP2 Series car's clutch, and I knew I would have lost some spots at the start. After the first corner I was running in fourth. While approaching the first chicane I was hit from behind hard by the car of Valsecchi. It's a shame because I was eager to do as more kilometers as possible and looking forward to another points spot. The weekend's balance is still positive though. After the end of the Auto GP season I'll focus all efforts to be back in the GP2 Series."
