Alexandre Premat heading to Monza

Monday, 04 September 2006 -Alex Prémat: "I head to Monza for the eleventh and last round of the GP2 season. Last year, arriving in Monza we still had two races left to go but this year it's our last race. After Sunday's race the championship will conclude with a big prize giving ceremony at Sporting Club, Monza. It'll be the official end to what's been a really competitive season.

After the last race I'm third in the championship with 62 points, four ahead of Timo Glock. The great news for our team, ART Grand Prix, is that we've already won the constructors' championship. The last race of the season will be a big affair for us and my sponsor Brainforce will also be inviting a number of special guests.

As for the track, Monza is a very different challenge to Istanbul. It has long straights and difficult corners. The hard braking zones are tricky and provide plenty of opportunity for overtaking.

Last year I had to learn the track from video footage as it was my first time at Monza. I did well considering and qualified fourth. Whatever happens in qualifying, I will need to get a good start as there are often problems down at the first corner.
