The Direxiv Motorsport drivers Olivier Pla and Clivio Piccione are optimistic of achieving a good result in the GP2 races at Magny Cours despite both drivers enduring a troubled qualifying session. Olivier starts from 12th place on the grid for David Price Racing, while Nürburgring race winner Clivio Piccione is back in 23rd for Durango.

Olivier Pla, David Price Racing: 12th position: 1:26.158* "I had a real problem with the braking, which was a shame because everything else with the car was really good. We lowered the car after practice to help fix the problem, but this caused the car to hit the ground under heavy braking. But tomorrow's race is a long one and you never know what could happen."

Clivio Piccione, Durango Racing Team: 23rd position: 1:27.691* "That was not one of the best sessions for me! I was struggling with traction and oversteer in the medium and lower speed corners. The car was so inconsistent and hard to drive that I was making mistakes everywhere. This meant I was unable to put together a really quick lap. From 23rd on the grid we will have to be aggressive with the strategy. I've got nothing to lose, so I just have to race as hard as I can."

Misato Haga, President and CEO, Direxiv Motorsport: "This was a frustrating session for both Olivier and Clivio but anything can happen in a GP2 race and so they could still collect some points tomorrow."
