After a month long break since the last GP2 race at Nurburgring, Olivier Pla and Ryan Sharp were both looking forward to getting back to what they love doing best: racing.

Unfortunately the French Magny Cours track was not to bring either of them the break they needed to make their mark in the highly competitive series. Pla's 9th place finish in the 2nd race today was the best result of the weekend's two races in adisappointing outing for the ambitious British team.

In yesterday's 41-lap 'Grand' race, Olivier was hoping to profit from his 11th place qualifying position to gain some valuable points. Being hit by Alvarez on the first lap was not part of his game plan and, although he managed to re-join the race, the ensuing damage to his Dallara-Renault's steering meant that his race ended before the chequered flag.

Lack of track time didn't help the young Scot in his qualifying efforts, and a faltering start off the line left him with too big a hurdle to jump in his own quest for points. He finished in 19th place. Post race investigation by the team revealed an engine down on power which certainly hampered Sharp in his bid to climb through the field.

The engine problem, coupled with a down-on-power Sharp due to a stomach complaint, meant that car nr. 12's race ended prematurely in today's 'Sprint' event. Olivier battled through to 9th place -- despite Viso's best efforts to stop him from crossing the finish line. A clash between the pair on the last lap, whilst fighting for 8th,saw Viso ultimately being penalised for the move although this could not make up for DPR's disappointment.

With new engines, and the bonus of being on home ground, DPR now moves forward with great anticipation to Silverstone for next week's British Grand Prix.
