With LOPEZ on the front row and FAUZY closing to top 10 today's qualifying is the best of the season for our home Grand Prix.

Jean-Paul DRIOT, Team Principal : "I am delighted by this result here in Magny-Cours for our national race, 7/100 of a second from the pole is a good result, Jose Maria did a very good job. I am very happy for Fairuz, his progression through the races is very interesting, we knew it would need time and today we have the result of the work done with him."

Jose Maria LOPEZ : "I am quite happy with this result, it is a good way to start the weekend. Now we focus on our race set up and preparation and I feel confident for tomorrow. In the Paul Ricard test we have worked on long runs without looking for the best lap time and we had good information that we will apply here."

Fairuz FAUZY : "I am very happy, we have done a good job in Paul Ricard test in June, the car has no more problems and we are progressing. The Team works very hard and we improved performance and consistency for the race. I hope it will be dry tomorrow, any way we had our first sessions with rain at Paul Ricard and we have a good setup for wet conditions. The strategy will be also important tomorrow, we have the potential to get some points."

Today GP2 Series management confirmed the extension of the TV coverage: RTL Germany, Speed TV USA and RAI Italia will broadcast from this weekend for all the season the Sunday race live, also it has been confirmed that the 2 races of this weekend will be live on Eurosport. DAMS is delighted of these new agreements confirming the great interest and notoriety of the GP2 series in Europe as well as in the rest of the world.
