Trident Racing is already at Istanbul, eager to enter the eight seasonal round of the 2008 GP2 Series. On the Turkish racetrack, the team will line-up Argentinian 20-year-old Riccardo Risatti, deputising for Pastor Maldonado. The Venezuelan is still recovering from a bad bike fall happened last week, in which he suffered from a compound fracture of his right collarbone. Risatti met the team today, to find the best fit for his new seat and to pass the escape test imposed by the FIA rulebook. Everything`s ready for the first practice session, programmed to start tomorrow at 12:00, while drivers will make their way through qualification at 16:00. The official schedule follows local time, which has its time offset at UTC+3 (Central European Summer Time + 1, British Summer time + 2).
"My weekend will be starting with a learning process, since I never raced here before. During the last days I tried to learn the main traits of the track with the team`s engineers, and I know the whole sequence of corners. Of course, I`ll have to evaluate on-track the many ups and downs of Istanbul Park. On paper, this is one of the most interesting tracks of the season, and it reminds me Spa-Francorchamps. I`ve good expectations and good feelings about this weekend, also thanks the intense training I took in the off-time after racing in Hungary".
"Today I had a first test of the driving seat`s position, and I immediately found myself very comfortable, while the first contact with the team gave me a very positive impression: I`m impatiently waiting to get on-track. I know that keeping the right focus on everything will be very difficult, particularly because I`ll have only 30 minutes to practice an unknown car on an unknown track. I didn`t set particular goals, I`ll try to do the best I can without committing mistakes. I look forward to end both races; that would be a pretty nice debut in a championship that`s completely new to me".
