The stewards of the race meeting have handed down the results of their investigations into incidents during this afternoon's race in Istanbul, following discussions with all involved parties immediately after the event.

Championship leader Romain Grosjean was handed a 10 grid place penalty for race two tomorrow after he was judged to have overtaken the safety car when leaving the pitlane: he was not qualified in race one after failing to finish the event.

Giedo van der Garde also overtook the safety car when leaving the pitlane, and has 25 seconds added to his elapsed time for race one and a 10 grid penalty for race two. This promotes Javier Villa to seventh place, with Lucas di Grassi taking the point for eighth place and tomorrow's reverse pole.

In addition, Nico Hulkenberg was given a reprimand as a result of his off-track excursion shortly after the restart when he ran wide at turn 8: the German was judged to have rejoined the track without due care and attention, and almost caused a collision with a following competitor.
