Javier Villa and his fellow GP2 competitors return to racing this weekend in Turkey for the penultimate date of their season.

After the three week break since the races held at the beginning of August at the Hungaroring, the visit of the GP2 circus to the new and spectacular Istanbul track means the start of the final part of the season for the young Spaniard. In just two weeks, on the 10th of September, Villa will compete in the two events at Monza (Italy) that close his maiden season in the category below F1.

The first of these two final events in Turkey will be yet another chance for Javier to learn a new track, Istanbul Park. A circuit with very particular characteristics, it was opened last year and shows quite a difference from all the new tracks that have been built in recent seasons. The Turkish circuit immediately caught the eye of drivers, press and fans because its elevation changes, blind corners and especially the spectacular corner 8, a triple apex bend where finding the ideal line was the major problem for most of the drivers on their first visit to Istanbul.

After the unexpected rain that complicated the proceedings at Hungary, good weather, sunny and hot is expected this weekend in Turkey from the beginning with the early morning free practice session on Friday. There Villa and his team will try to find the best setup for his Dallara, whose behavior has notably improved in the last few races due to all the work done on it. The fast corners of Istanbul Park will be the ideal place to see if the team and driver have achieved the car balance they have been looking for since the beginning of the season.
