Premat determined to fight back at Imola

Monday, 17 April 2006 Alexandre Premat heads to the second round of the 2006 GP2 championship the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola (Italy) determined to fight back from his disappointment in the first round. Premat was unable to finish the second race in Valencia after Spanish rookie Adrian Valles forced him off the track on lap three.

"I was really disappointed I couldn't score any points during the first round of the season," Premat said. "I certainly hope to make up for it in Imola. I know the track well and am aware that it can be tricky with the rough surface and difficult kerbs. It's also a difficult track to overtake on. I'm determined to make up for the last race."

"The weather should not be too warm and the grip that was missing in Valencia on the dirty track should be available here," Premat added. "Our car is excellent as the team has worked a lot on developing it. There's no reason why we shouldn't be fighting at the front in Imola but we'll need to work carefully to set up the car well to handle the hard braking and acceleration."

"I like the track even if it's not particularly easy," Premat continued. "I have good memories from this track last year because I finished second just a few seconds behind the winner, and was on the podium for the second race of that season. I hope to go one better this year."
