VITALY STARTS FROM SECOND, ROMAIN SUFFERS AN ACCIDENT

Differing fortunes for the drivers of Barwa Addax Team, with Vitaly Petrov finishing the qualification session in second on the front row of the grid, while Romain Grosjean suffered an accident on only his third lap, which means he has been unable to set a qualifying time for tomorrow.

Vitaly has had great qualifying session emulating his second position after this morning's free practice. He looks to be in very good shape and is setting a rhythm which will make him very competitive, with the leadership of the driver's championship up for grabs. All this, despite having the bad luck of having to abort his fastest lap time in the second sector due to a red flag. In the first sector he had set the fastest time and was on his way to a possible pole.

Romain could only do three laps before suffering from an accident while overtaking one of his rivals. Unfortunately, he was unable to get back out on the track to set a decent qualifying time. Even though Grosjean starts from the very back of the grid, nobody counts him out particularly after his recent demonstrations where he has had to make great fightbacks.

Tomorrow the first race will take place at 16.00 hrs local time and will be over 42 laps covering a distance of 183.99 kms, with the compulsory pit stop which includes changing at least two tyres.
