RAIN RESULTS IN A DAMP SQUIB FOR TRUST TEAM

Fickle weather conditions denied Trust Team Arden another strong GP2 Series result at Hockenheim this afternoon. Sebastien Buemi was on course to finish third, and defending his position strongly in the face of a fierce challenge from Bruno Senna, when it began to rain in the closing stages of the 40-lap race. The Swiss driver opted to continue on slick tyres -- a decision taken by the majority of the field -- but in increasingly slippery conditions he slithered off the road soon afterwards. He would not be alone in that.

Team-mate Luca Filippi made a terrific start to his first race with the team. He moved up from 13th to ninth on the opening lap, but the treacherous conditions later caught him out, too.

Sebastien:

"I made a good start, which moved me up to third, and after that I was able to hold my position quite comfortably. It was a hard race, though. I had to cope with a few brake problems even before it started to rain. Five laps from the end I arrived at the Sachskurve, locked the brakes and was unable to keep the car on the track. I am really upset about that because I had driven strongly throughout the race. The incident means I have to start 19th tomorrow, so I'll just have to see what I can do from there."

Luca:

"I made up several places during the opening lap and gained more ground during the tyre stops -- I was able to pass Vitaly Petrov just after I left the pits. Unfortunately, our battle compromised both of us and I then lost a place to Alvaro Parente. I was quick enough to maintain my position, despite intermittently locking brakes, but then the weather changed. I kept pushing, in a bid to repass Parente, but I spun at Turn 13 and was unable to restart the engine."
