At the end of a really successful Race 1, won by Pastor Maldonado, the Rapax Team ended up Race 2 with Luiz Razia in 13th, while the Venezuelan was forced to retire on Race 2 after a contact with Romain Grosjean car.

Despite having lost chances to score points, Rapax left the Hockenheim Ring with the lead in both the drivers' and the teams' championships. The GP2 Main Series won't be going on holiday, as the next round of 2010 is scheduled at the end of the week at the Hungaroring.

Luiz Razia. "My race hasn't been bad at all. The early laps have been really tricky, because I was at the middle of the pack, and sandwiched by several other cars. Everything was fine though. I'm looking forward to the next round at the Hungaroring, where I hope to be really competitive since practice and do well in qualifying. A good spot at the start will be key in scoring some good results."

Pastor Maldonado. "My start has been good, but I had not the necessary pace to fight for a podium spot. I had a tough time in catching the other driver's slipstream and I hoped to end up close to a points spot. With three laps to go, I noticed that two cars were fighting in front of me and, at turn 8, Grosjean made his way in too. I tried to stay wide at the entrance and cross his line at the exit, and it paid off. I was going back on the throttle but I was hit by him. It's a shame, because I stopped a really positive stint where I kept scoring points, but I hope to be back at the top starting from next weekend at Budapest".
