The Rapax Team and Pastor Maldonado scored their fourth win of the season in today's Race 1 of the GP2 Main Series round at Hockenheim. Thanks to his new victory, the Venezuelan increased his advantage in points, while the Italian squad also extended their lead at the top of the Teams Standings.

The weekend took off with a rain-hit qualifying session, where Maldonado scored the second fastest lap of the day and cruised to a spot on the front row. He did a great job at the start, clinching the lead by turn one and holding it steadily until checkered. The mandatory pit-stop also allowed him to extend his margin thanks to a great team performance.

Luiz Razia had a quite disappointing race. After starting from row 4, he was punted by a rival car on lap 5, while running in 8th place. As the car stalled, the Brazilian was forced to retire.

Following to today's results, Maldonado will be starting from 8th place tomorrow, while his team-mate is set to move from the back of the pack, on row 12. The race will start at 10:35, on a 21-lap distance. RaiSport will provide live coverage.

Pastor Maldonado. "I feel great to talk about another great day for me and the whole team. The start has been the deciding moment, as I took off quickly and clinched the lead before turn 1 . Once on top, I was able to manage the pressure I was getting from Perez, who was pushing really hard. I knew I had some margin though. My pit-stop has been perfect and the second half of the race went on good: it's easier to be in a race when you're up front! I'm glad for the points we scored, but the championship is still long, and I want to stay focused".

Luiz Razia. "I made a great start, as I climbed two spots back, and fought with Clos and Bianchi. Then I made a mistake at the first corner, and Valsecchi closed on me. While approaching turn 8, I was prepared to drive my usual line, but I got hit on the side. Valsecchi punted me, literally ending my race. Being forced to end this way, and knowing I had everything to do great is really disappointing."
