DPR'S GOOD LUCK CONTINUES -- PLA ON POLE FOR RACE TWO Olivier

Pla will start tomorrow's second, 'sprint' GP2 race from pole position -- his second consecutive race two pole -- after Ernesto Viso was disqualified from race one due to a scrutineering infringement.

The Frenchman continued his Silverstone race-winning form with strong practice and qualifying performances. He ran in the top six for the first part of the race but was subsequently delayed by an electronic glitch (the anti-stall device activated itself in the hairpin and he lost several places) and a problematic pit stop.

DPR was therefore disappointed not to have been in a position to challenge for a podium finish. For Briton Ryan Sharp, there was some comfort in today's result as it was the first time he had taken the chequered flag since Magny Cours.

Progress has been made today and, on a track he knows well thanks to his time in the German Formula Renault Championship, he is confident of an improved placing in tomorrow's race.
