Early disappointment for Clivio

In the 27 lap sprint race, Clivio's race fate was sealed in the first lap after a spin forced him to the back of the field, effectively eliminating his chances of a point scoring finish.

Clivio put in a determined race passing Jani, Lauda, Artam, Hernandez and finally Negrao with only two laps to go to cross the line in 17th position.

Clivio:

"My start was okay, then on the first lap after the hairpin, I pulled on the inside to overtake Hernandez. He moved across and I was forced onto the kerb which forced me to spin.

I was then at the back of the field and had to just concentrate on recovering as many positions as possible. The car didn't feel great at the beginning of the race as I had big oversteer on the exit of the corners, but it improved as the race went on. I attacked as much as I could and overtook five drivers and kept pushing right to the end.

It was a very tough race and 17th is not a position I like to finish in, but that's racing and now I'll just switch my focus to Budapest next weekend."
