Scuderia Coloni press release
Scuderia Coloni In Barcelona With Ceccon, Clos And Coletti
Scuderia Coloni is ready to get back on track: the Italian team will start the engines of their GP2 cars from tomorrow morning in Barcelona, taking part in the last test session of 2011 and then packing-up for Abu Dhabi, where on 12-13 November the GP2 Finale will be held. In Spain Scuderia Coloni will present itself with a very strong line-up, with Stefano Coletti, Dani Clos and Kevin Ceccon taking the wheel of the #18 and #19 cars. It’s an high-profile trio for the team managed by Paolo Coloni, a line-up that should guarantee both speed and a good technical feedback, in order to allow the team to proceed with the development work. Being Barcelona an actual track of the 2012 GP2 Season, data gathered in this test will prove particularly useful, so this will be a very important part of the job done in the two days.
Paolo Coloni: “I’m really happy of having such an high-level line-up, with the right mix of experience to guarantee us both performance and a good job with the team from a technical standpoint. That’s important because we have two different objectives for this test. On one side we want to bring the development of the car forward, making the most of the welcome addition of an experienced engineer like Roberto Trevisan to our 2012 staff. On the other side we’ll keep evaluating drivers for the next season. This will be the most difficult part of the job, considering the talents that are testing with us”.
Stefano Coletti: “I’m really happy that I will go on track with Scuderia Coloni, it’s the team that dominated the second part of the GP2 season so I’m both thrilled and curious of trying the car. I’m coming back from a long stop after the back injury I suffered in Spa so I know that this could hamper me a bit, but I’m confident that together we will do good job anyway”.
Dani Clos: “The first time I tried a GP2 car, in 2007, it was with Scuderia Coloni, so getting the opportunity to test again with them today that I have much more experience is really a good feeling. They are a top-notch team, as they clearly showed in 2011, and they want to win as much as I want. This test will be the right chance to see if we can do that together. Honestly I’m reallyg forward to it”.
