The Rapax team completed their second race of the weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, as the GP2 Main Series rounded out its 8th double race of the season. The Italian-based squad suffered from some really adverse fortunes at the Belgian venue, as both Fabio Leimer and Julian Leal were unable to reach the full distance. The day also provided some pretty tense moments when Leimer went off pretty hard at Eau Rouge corner on lap 8. After the impact, on a corner which is usually approached at more than 200 Kilometers per hour, Fabio was brought back to the pits and did not report any physical damage, except for a bruised foot which won't have any further consequence for him. After having enjoyed a positive start, Julian Leal was forced to retire after a spin at La Source on lap 13. The Rapax team is now looking forward to the final round of the 2011 championship, coming in two weeks at Monza. It'll be the home race for Rapax, and a pretty good occasion to get a well-deserved reward after the latest struggles.

Fabio Leimer "The race was unfolding in a pretty positive manner for us, as we chose an aero set-up that provided with more top speed rather than downforce. On lap 8 I was running behind Vietoris when I lost the rear at Eau Rouge, smashing into the inside barriers. The hit has been quite heavy, but I just have a sore foot and being back at Monza won't be a problem."

Julian Leal “I've been off to a bad start, but in the first few laps the car's performance proved great. I recovered several spots as I passed many cars thanks to an high top speed. The I made a mistake at La Source while I was defending myself from Ericsson, whom I had went by earlier."
