The GP2 Series Finale came to an end today, resulting in a fantastic day for iSport with a double podium for the team and claiming first place in the Team Standings.

Tom Dillmann claimed 2nd place in the GP3 graduate positions finishing P3, resulting in the Frenchman being awarded 10 000 in prize money from Pirelli. Marcus Ericsson continued his strong recovery from qualifying by moving up from P5 to P3 within minutes of leaving the start line, and then passing Felix da Costa to P2 in lap 8. Marcus battled to claim that all important first place, however was just piped to the post by James Calado.

Gavin Bickerton Jones – Chief Engineer

“After a bad qualifying, Marcus made a great recovery throughout the weekend, and drove two strong races in good preparation for next year. Tom again, showed great potential and completed a good, solid job and maintained a good race pace to finish equal top rookie, but just lost out to Calado on countback.”

With the season now over, iSport would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the year. The iSport team look to come back in 2012 stronger and with Marcus Ericsson already signed up and another to be announced soon, the potential is certainly there to claim the 2012 GP2 Series Championship titles.
