GP2 Series Tests - Valencia - First day

Durango's continuing success was confirmed by the positive results obtained on the first day of tests in Valencia, Spain, where weather conditions were cloudy.

The Spaniard, Borja Garcia, took fourth overall position of the day and third in the afternoon, despite running off the track in the morning and being constricted to a wheel change.

The Brazilian, Alberto Valerio, however, had to pull out of the afternoon test due to a problem on the track. He too ran a good morning session finishing amongst the top ten.

Borja Garcia - Time: 1:18.705

I'm very happy with the first test day results. I was struck by the performance of the car and the efficiency of the team, both of which helped me to obtain great results despite racing in the afternoon with only three new tyres.

Alberto Valerio - Time: 1:19.295

I'm sorry that the problems which occurred on the track forced me to pull out. It's a pity because I was getting the results that I'd set out for, finishing first amongst the top ten. Tomorrow I'll do everything I can to make up for all the hard work done by the excellent Durango team.

Tomorrow sees Alberto Valerio racing again for Durango together with Clivio Piccione.
