The long-awaited moment has arrived at last. Facu Regalia will make his debut in GP2 next weekend, the first date in calendar 2014 for the series.

After two collective test sessions held in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi last March, when the Argentine representative began to work with his new racing team -SFIF1 GP2 Team- for the incipient season, now he faces up to new challenges in his career as the season kicks off on Arab soil.

During six days both the driver and the staff of Hillmer Motorsport worked intensively to prepare properly their season debut and maximize their options as much as possible. Despite some engine issues throughout his off-season work, Regalia and his team finished happy with their qualifying and race simulations and the competitiveness achieved.

At the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, practice takes place at 11.00 (CET), and then qualifying is due to start at 19.00 – for the first time taking place at night here-. Race one is scheduled on Saturday at 12.10 and race two, on Sunday, at 13.15. Pirelli has chosen its Orange Hard and Yellow Soft tires compounds for this round.

Facu Regalia: “I couldn´t wait to start the season, my debut in GP2, just a step away from Formula 1. Our hard work in winter was huge and our sacrifices paid off. I am very proud to be standing here representing my country. I am ready, absolutely focused on the weekend and the work we need to do. Our goal is to achieve the best performance, to work hard with my team and ensure the best possible start, because it would be very important for my team and me. I would like to bring home a nice result for my fans in Argentina, Latin America, Spain and other countries. I want to put my country´s flag on top. I want to thank my sponsors, family and fans their support. I will give the best of me!”.
