Indianapolis, IN - There might be two simple questions ahead of Conor Daly's European GP2 start this weekend in Barcelona, Spain. Will an American driver become significant in Formula One in the near future? Will Formula One flourish in America without one? Many believe the answers might be; 'maybe' and 'no' respectively.

When practice starts on Friday morning, Daly will be aboard his Venezuela GP Lazarus GP2 car without those answers but armed with a more tactical approach to his weekend; to make the car go as fast as possible in qualifying and in each of the two races. The Formula One support series, GP2, has produced many of the current Formula One grid including, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Nico Hulkenberg.

Daly knows that he cannot really control his future but he can control what he brings to the team. "I have so much fan support in America and somehow I want those fans to have a real reason to tune into what I'm doing in the years to come," said Daly from Barcelona, Spain on Wednesday morning. "I have to stay focused on being the best driver I can be and that learning continues this weekend."

Since completing six days of winter testing in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, Venezuela GP Lazarus has pushed hard for Daly to drive one of their cars for the full season. "Since I stepped into this car I have had a great relationship from a committed group of people who want the very best for me and them," said Daly. "I'm a bit of a gypsy right now and am not even sure where I'll live after the race weekend in Barcelona but I'm committed to my path to Formula One."
