Looking forward to Barcelona

Paris - Tuesday, 09 May 2006 I've only just got back from the busy European Grand Prix weekend where I scored eight points in race one and got the fastest lap in a difficult second race and we're already preparing for the next event in Spain!

I know the Circuit de Catalunya quite well. I raced here in 2005 and I've also tested on the track. I like driving there. The circuit has a blend of corners that show up all the performance aspects of a car. There are four high-speed corners, several medium-speed, and a sharper turn at the entrance of the La Caixa bend.

It's not particularly easy because the track changes quite dramatically with the weather, wind and temperature. This influences the balance of the car and of course the lap time. Also the track is quite hard on your neck, especially in the last two corners that lead on to the main straight. But I am very fit and can handle it.

The car problem we had at the start of the second Nurburgring race was unlucky because we had the speed to get another strong result that was shown when I managed to do the fastest lap of anyone. The car is well balanced and very competitive. The team has also been excellent during pit stops. We have the pace to win races and I want to keep finishing on the podium. I'm seventh in the championship with thirteen points and the team is only three points behind the leader in the constructors' championship. With hard work I'm sure we can take the lead this weekend and I can improve my standing in the drivers' championship.
