The Caterham Racing driving was involved in several battles, making some good overtaking moves in quite difficult conditions on a track that became quite tricky when an intense rain shower felt over Monza at the mid race point.

Despite this the Barcelona-born driver avoided any problems and managed to complete a weekend when he has taken his two best race results of the year and that should mean a new starting point for the rest of his season.

After the Italian races GP2 has finished its European season and now hast a long trip to Asia, the next date being in two weeks’ time at Singapore.

Sergio Canamasas: “I had an enjoyable race in the sense that there were some great battles and it was clean racing. I lost some time and places when fighting with Nasr and Coletti and although I am not in the points I had a good race with no incidents or problems.

“When the rain fell, Parabolica was a bit slippery but it didn’t affect me much. I am pleased that I had a solid weekend with my first points yesterday. “I always look to be better and Singapore is just around the corner so we will see what we can do there.”
