Bahrain Race 2: a contact compromises Trident Racing's day.

The second GP2 race in Bahrain featured Kohei Hirate and Pastor Maldonado starting from the back of the grid. Maldonado had a good start, and took several positions back, while Hirate was more careful in the beginning but achieved the same result. The Japanese got close on his team-mate on lap 13, but unfortunately the two pilots collided, with Kohei forced to retire and and Maldonado pushed to the back of the chart.

Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Team Principal
"Unfortunately we had a race accident that involved our two drivers instead of pilots from different teams. Trident Racing has always been open to competition, but there are rules that, especially between team-mates, must be respected. The one in Bahrain was the first GP2 weekend for both drivers, and we`ll evaluate all the evidence we have to make Pastor and Kohei understand that they have to respect each other for team`s interest. Of course we`re not satisfied with what happened, because the cars were running good and the drivers were progressively getting close to the first positions, like Nakajinima eventually did in the end. Our weekend wasn`t positive on the results standpoint but, if we have to highlight a positive aspect, we can praise the potential shown by Maldonado and Hirate. Our goal will be to stay in the first eight sports: from now on, there will be no excuses".
