GFH team iSport look to step up the pace in Malaysia after frustrating qualifying session

Both GFH team iSport drivers failed to make the top 10 in a very competitive qualifying session today at the Sepang International Circuit in round 5 of the GP2 Asia Series.

In the late dash for pole, both Hamad Al Fardan and Giedo van der Garde were pushed down the time sheets with only 1 second separating the top 22.

Dutch GFH team iSport driver Giedo van der Garde set a best time of 1.46.105, only 6 tenths slower than pole sitter Jerome d'Ambrosio but unfortunately down the grid in 16th. Bahraini rookie Hamad Al Fardan will start from 21st again within a second of pole position proving in this session a fraction of a second can make a big difference.

The feature race will take place tomorrow at 12:00pm local time.

Giedo van der Garde -- 16th 1.46.105
Hamad Al Fardan -- 21st 1.46.265
