Coloni invites Alvaro Parente again
Alvaro Parente will take part in the last GP2 Asia event, that will be held in a week at Bahrain, after being invited again by Paolo Coloni to drive a car from his team.
In the third round of the Asian championship, that happened last weekend, it was proven, once again, the young Portuguese driver huge talent, as, after five months far from a racing car, he showed a strong pace since he started to drive the Coloni's Dallara Renault.
The men from the Italian outfit understood the Portuguese driver capacities soon and they decided to invite him again for the Sakhir second round. "We confirmed Alvaro for the last GP2 Asia Series race because of the great potential he showed one week ago in Bahrain. Our aim is to confirm that competitive level also in the last race of the championship, and to face at our best the new track conditions. Racing in the same weekend with Formula 1 will mean a completely different kind and amount of rubber on the track, so from a technical point of view this will be a challenge. I'm sure that Alvaro's experience and enthusiasm will help the team in doing the best possible job", said with confidence Paolo Coloni, the Scuderia Coloni team boss.
The Portuguese young driver, excited by the confidence that was put on him, is more motivated than ever and he expects, with his team help, to be able to achieve the results that the pace that he showed in the Bahrain's GP2 Asia first round is capable to reach. "In my first race with Scuderia Coloni we showed, since the beginning, that we had the pace to fight for the top positions. Unfortunately we didn't had the best luck during the weekend and we only got the 6th place. It was very easy to work with all the team and, for this race, I think that we will be even more competitive. Should be great to go for the win when the F1 championship starts.
I would like to thank to the team, Ridge Solutions and ADFPR International for supporting me for this race", underlined with motivation Alvaro Parente.
