Ho-Pin Tung 14th in unexpected rentree in final GP2-races Abu Dhabi

Ho-Pin Tung found himself behind the wheel of a GP2-racing car in last weekend's final races in Abu Dhabi, and scored a 14th place in the second race, on 36 seconds from race winner Davide Valescchi. His unexpected rentree followed a three and a half months medical sentence, after being injured in Hungary, August 1st. In Saturday's first race the young Chinese did not finish due to a broken clutch.

'I felt good in the car, the car felt good and the team, Racing Engineering, worked excellent. Just the time to prepare was extremely short,' tells Ho-Pin right after the race. 'I enjoyed being racing and pushing again and fighting a few battles with other guys. But the situation was that Thursdaynight I was still in the hospital for final medical examinations, untill three o' clock in the morning and a few hours later a had to step in.' In free practise Ho-Pin could not use all sets of tyres, which made him think that if he could have used all available tyres this would have had a positive impact on his results.

Ho-Pin Tung now aimes at next year. His goal is still unchanged: Formula 1. 'I want to be the first ever Chinese Formula 1 racing driver.'
