Using seed money from SEMA, a new, sort of lobbying group for American racers and their suppliers has been formed. Called the World Motorsports Society, the group will be open to racers, sanctioning bodies, engine builders, parts suppliers, and tracks. At some point, race fans will be allowed to join. Initial concerns include track admission taxes, fuel hauling, and working with government agencies (like the EPA). SEMA board member Rick Rollins is the acting chairman of the Society.
