Las Vegas, NV. (August 20) - Ray Hampton Racing (RHR) announced today that it has contracted with MotorSports Marketing, Inc. of Richmond, Va. to develop and implement a comprehensive communications and marketing program for RHR's newly formed U.S. Touring Car Championship team. The contract runs through the 2003 USTCC season.

RHR, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, has successfully fielded a variety of cars, including USAC Midgets and Sprint Cars, as well as showroom 'prepared' sports cars including BMW M-3s and Porsche 993/911 Twin Turbos. As a driver, Ray Hampton has accumulated a number of outright and class wins, most notably the Memorial Day Classic at Laguna Seca for BMW. He regularly runs driving schools for Porsche Club of America, N.A.S.A., BMW, and Audi.

Ray Hampton Racing will field a two car team, though additional cars will likely be built to offer additional promotional opportunities for the team's sponsors. Although the detailed business plan developed by RHR includes a calendar listing numerous days each month when competition cars will be available for promotional display or event marketing, discussions with potential sponsors pointed out the value that could be provided by access to additional Touring Cars.

Since the USTCC, which is sanctioned by the fast growing National Auto Sport Association (N.A.S.A.), features sedans which are nearly stock in appearance and allow performance modifications similar to those often made to their street counterparts, sponsors' feel they offer a more relevant platform than those of some of the more esoteric race series. The exposure sponsors expect from the team's on track success and off track promotions will be complemented by RHR's emphasis on co-marketing with sponsors and tie ins with the RHR website, which will be expanded and enhanced as part of MotorSports Marketing's contract with the team.

MotorSports Marketing, founded in 1998, initially concentrated on sponsorship development oriented towards the N.A.S.C.A.R. program. With the growth of popularity of N.A.S.C.A.R. and the attendant increased cost of participation for sponsors, teams, and racetracks, by 2000 MotorSports Marketing found many clients were looking for alternative opportunities and required a wider range of support services. The complete range of services now offered includes development of marketing plans and promotional materials, coordination of 'event marketing' programs, press release writing and distribution, as well as website development and e-commerce systems.
