Diego Aventín (Ford) repeated in Rafaela, Santa Fé his victory of two weeks ago in Olavarría. The young driver shared the podium with the other Ford guys, Fabián Acuña and Juan Manuel Silva.

With his only 21 years, he is the revelation of the 2002 season. With only 21 years he already won four races in T.C., three of them this year, and two in the last two races. With only 21 years he is in his fourth season in T.C. With only 21 years he is one of the idols of Ford. With only 21 years he is second in the championship and he will fight it until the end. All this with only 21 years.

Aventín qualified tenth on saturday and he knew that to win in the final race he must before win his series. And he did after a fantastic fight, first with the fastest on saturday, Ponce de León (Ford) and then with J.M. Silva. Diego started the final race third behind Fernando Iglesias (Ford) and J.L. Di Palma (Chevrolet). In lap four Aventín took the leadership and never left it until the end, like he did in Olavarría. Of course that this great result can be done if you have a big team behind working very hard like has Aventín.

He arrived to the last race in Olavarría like the big candidate to win but he only finished fifth. For Rafaela he knew about the potential of his car and he showed it every time he went to the track. Acuña started the final race with the only idea of win. He couldn`t but he fighted during all the race trying to pass Aventín. The second position for Acuña after the complication of changed the engine before the race is not that bad for him. He will try again to win in the next competition of Buenos Aires where he finished second in the race disputed in May in that circuit.

On last sunday he won in T.C.2000, now in T.C. he completed another great result. He is J.M. Silva the men that finished third took very important points, not to fight the championship, but yes to be the highest posible at the end of the year. He qualified fourth and finished second his series behind Aventín. But the most important for Silva is the great new the announced a few days ago: he will be father of his first child in some months. Congratulations for him and his wife.

Why he is first in the championship? Regularity. That is the word of Guillermo Ortelli (Chevrolet) in this season of T.C. He only won one race this year, but he score points in every competition. He started eleventh and finished fourth this time. He knows how to run races and that is the important. He knows how to pass cars and not be invrolucate in some friction that could impair his job. He almost never makes mistakes, his car never stoped for mechanics problems in the tenth races of this 2002 season. That are the reasons of because Guillermo Ortelli is three times champion of T.C. and he is in the road to his fourth.

Omar Martínez (Ford) doesn`t complete a good weekend. He came to Rafaela 20,50 points behind the leader and he leaved 24,50 behind. Martínez finished eighth after started sixteen the final race. The men of Ford must work very hard if he want to follow the fight for the championship.

Worst was the result for Marcos Di Palma (Chevrolet). He started thirty sixth the final because of a touch with Emiliano Spataro (Chevrolet) in his series. Marcos was trying to finish in the top ten when a mechanic problem make him finish twentieh.

After ten races Guillermo Ortelli is leading the championship with 155 points, followed by Diego Aventín with 142, Omar Martínez 130,50.

The next race of T.C. will be in September 8th. in Buenos Aires. See you there!
