The Race Of Champions, which is being staged for the 25th consecutive year in 2012, brings together the world’s greatest drivers from motor sport’s main disciplines – including Formula 1, world rally, touring cars, Le Mans, MotoGP, IndyCar and the X-Games – and sets them free to battle head-to-head racing a mix of cars – including the Audi R8 LMS, VW Scirocco, Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo,Toyota GT86 and two specials small race vehicles – on a purpose-built parallel track at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The cars used on this 2012 Race of Champions edition are:
Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo, 570-horsepower, V10 engine.
Audi R8 LMS, a successful 570HP racing sportscar.
Euro Racecar, but not European... It's a NASCAR style car with a big old 5.7-litre V8, 450bhp and four speed manual.
Volkswagen Scirocco, unique front-wheel drive car in ROC, develops 200HP.
Toyota GT86, a rear-wheel drive sports car with 197HP.
KTM X-Bow, an ultra-light sports car for road and race use, produces about 237 hp.
RoC Car, that has an 1100cc engine with 170 hp, home build specially for the Race of Champions.
