BAD LUCK FOR TOMAS ENGSTROM

This weekend Mantorp Park hosted the last race of the STCC 2005, where Tomas Engstrom chances to defend his third position in the Championship and attack the leaders were vanished by a race accident. In race one, in fact, starting from the fifth place on the grid, a collision involving Engstrom Dahlgren and Ekblom, in the attempt to overtake the poleman Goranssonn forced Tomas to return to the pits and repair the car which was badly damaged.

"I do not feel responsible for the accident, but once again my car was badly damaged, and there was no point to rush to attend to race 2" Tomas sadly commented. "In the final race I started from the back of the grid and completed a good recovery, the car was good and I was the fastest on the track, therefore I am very disappointed. This year I have always been among the fastest drivers, if not the fastest, but from Anderstorp onwards I have gone through a tremendous sequel of accidents for which I was not really responsible for. I definitely would have deserved a better final result".

At the end of the day the final third race saw the 7 position of Engstrom and this placement (thanks also to the other two Honda Civic present in the Championship, driven by Haglof end Hellstrom) ensure to Honda the fourth position in the Manufacturers Championship.

In Valencia, 9 round of the FIA WTCC 2005, the 41-year old swedish driver will join Adriano De Micheli driving his JAS-built Honda Accord.
