The second round of the Argentinian Championship of Turismo Carretera disputed in the circuit of Mar de Ajo (same scenary of the first competition of the season disputed on january) confirmed that Christian Ledesma (Chevrolet / 5) is leaving a fantastic moment in his carreer. Ledesma took a great victory from Mar de Ajo. The winner shared the podium with Fabian Acuña (Ford / 8) and Diego Aventin (Ford / 3).

Ledesma started very well the season in the first race with the pole position and the second place in the final race. Before the green flag appear, Ledesma was the big candidate to win in this second round of T.C. The twenty-six years driver finished third in the qualify session won by Juan Maria Traverso (Chevrolet / 39). The activity in the qualify was complicated with the presence of the rain, fortunately on sunday the rain go home.

On sunday Ledesma started from the first position the third series. After six laps of hard fight with the four times champion, Guillermo Ortelli (Chevrolet / 1), Ledesma won the series. However it was the slowest of the three series, so Christian started the final race from the third place. In the start of the final race Ledesma passed Acuña. Then Christian put everything to pass Traverso. And he did it after fight during fourteenth laps. The winner took the leadership in a fantastic meneuver with his Chevrolet. This was the fifth victory of Ledesma in Turismo Carretera since he joined the category in 1998. Also it was his fourth victory driving a Chevrolet.

When the category arrived to this second round in Mar de Ajo the big question was: Will Chevrolet take the 1-2 again? Acuña secured that this doesn`t happen. He know very well this circuit where he won in 2000 driving for Chevrolet. Acuña qulified second on saturday and he won his series on sunday. In the final race he fought for a place in the podium with Bessone (Dodge / 7), Aventin and Ortelli. Finally and after pushed a lot with his Ford Acuña took a very important result for his intention of fight the 2003 championship of Turismo carretera.

Diego Aventin won here in 2002. From that race to now lots of thing happened to this young driver. He fought until the end the 2002 championship against Ortelli. The start of the new season wasn`t good for him. In the first race Aventin couldn`t finished the race with an engine problem. Fortunately for him this weekend was different and Diego took the third position.

Aventin started the race from the third row (fifth). He had an interesting fight with Ortelli during all the race. Three laps before the chequered flag, Aventin passed Ortelli for the third place. The Ford driver wants the championship this year and he knows that he can`t keep losing points against Ledesma and Ortelli, the two biggest candidates for the 2003 crown of Turismo carretera after the first two races.

The hottest moment of the race was the friction between Bessone and Traverso. In lap 18 Bessone tried to pass Traverso for the second place, but he hit the Chevrolet number 39 and Traverso couldn`t continue in the race. Bessone, who finished second in the track, the stewards gave him a penalty of 30 seconds, so he finished 22th.

After two races Ledesma leades the championship with 46 points, followed by Ortelli with 40,50. To this fantastic result in Mar de Ajo we must add that Ledesma might race in T.C. 2000 in 2003. Acording to informations, the leader of the T.C. championship is negociating with the factory team Chevrolet (Pro Racing Team) to drive one of the two Chevrolets Astra this season.

The next race will be on March 9th. in Rio Gallegos, Santa Cruz. For this third race of the season will make his debut in the category the 2002 champion of T.C. 2000, Norberto Fontana driving a Dodge.
