Buenos Aires, July 26th.- The Argentinian TC 2000 Championship is about to close its first half of season this weekend at the Rio Cuarto Speedway, one of the fastest tracks in the country with the longest straight of them all (0,756 ft.), where cars reach top speeds of 150 mph.

With six rounds completed, current champion Norberto Fontana (Toyota Corolla) leads the positions with 68 points, followed by the two factory-backed Ford Focus drivers Walter Hernandez and Gabriel Ponce de Leon, with 59 and 55 points.

This will be the 30th time the category visits the city, which means this is the second most used circuit in the sport's history after Buenos Aires. The key point here is finding a balance between the mostly fast places and a few slower corners. A good top speed is therefore essential.

Just like in Obera, there will be 30 cars entering the event and once again the Honda Civic of Oscar Canela will not be present.

After Saturday's Qualifying session, TC 2000 helds two short races of six laps each at 10.00 and 10.30, while the main event takes place at 12.40 and finishes after 40 laps or 60 minutes.
