Monticello Motor Club, Riley Technologies Announce Partnership
(13 December 2010)--Riley Technologies of Mooresville, NC, one of North America's most successful racing car manufacturers, announced today a partnership with Monticello Motor Club (MMC), the exclusive members-only country club racing resort located 90 minutes from Manhattan in Monticello, NY.
Through the agreement, MMC will be responsible for sales, service and support of the Riley Mk XXII Track Day Car, one of the fastest and safest track cars on the market. Customers may purchase a built-to-order Mk XXII from MMC and take delivery at the racetrack, where MMC's expert staff will educate the new owner on the operation and maintenance of the car, and provide one-on-one track instruction with MMC's pro-drivers.
The Riley Mk XXII was created to provide the potential series and recreational racer with a fast, safe, and reliable track car, capable of performing close to the same level as today's most advanced purebred racing machines. Featuring a closed coupe safety cell, steel chassis, and composite body panels, the Riley Mk XXII sets a new standard in performance, safety and cost effectiveness. The Mk XXII is powered by the reliable GM Aluminum 6.2L LS3 V-8 (tuned to 500 HP) yielding an impressive 4.4 lbs. per horsepower, combined with low operating costs. The complete ready-to-race vehicle is $199,500 plus delivery. Optional engine packages are available for those seeking even greater performance.
MMC's President, Ari Straus, was enthusiastic about the car after a recent test on the club's 3.5-mile circuit with pro-driver David Donohue behind the wheel. "We've been looking for a track day car that combined exceptional performance, reliability, serviceability and, most important, safety. The Riley Mk XXII delivers in every area. This phenomenal purpose-built racecar will challenge pro-drivers and novice enthusiasts alike. With Riley's reputation and history of racing success, we're glad to have them as a partner. And with strong interest and early deposits already in, we anticipate enough cars to host the fastest amateur spec race series in the world. As an added benefit, purchasers of the Mk XXII will get an automatic entry in the spec series at no additional cost."
Riley Technologies Vice President, Ron McMahon, was on hand for the test. "We've found the perfect partner in Monticello Motor Club. Their facility is phenomenal - truly world class - and they understand the needs of the amateur racer and track enthusiast. The MMC technical crew and service department staff have pro-racing experience, including a decade of experience on our Daytona Prototype chassis, so I'm confident they'll deliver the level of service we demand for Mk XXII customers. I can't think of a better way for new owners of the MK XXII to learn and experience their cars than at Monticello Motor Club."
The Riley Mk XXII has already made headlines, winning the 2009 Hankook Ultimate Track Car Challenge presented by Grassroots Motorsports. It was Overall and Class Champion with Driver Marc Goossens, turning a 1:44.96 lap on VIR's 3.27 mile Full-Course.
