WORLD'S MOST MODERN LIGHT SYSTEM FLIPS SWITCH JUNE 17 AT RICHMOND WHEN MUSCO UNVEILS "MIRTRAN" ILLUMINATION AT RIR'S "USAC CHAMPIONSHIP TWINS" RICHMOND, VA - The world's most modern (and 1 of a kind) space age racetrack lighting system will be illuminated for the first time before a live ESPN television audience at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night, June 17 for the USAC CHAMPIONSHIP TWINS, Paul Sawyer's megabucks twinbill extravaganza for the True Value Silver Crown Series and the United States Formula Ford 2000 Series race cars. The first 52 state-of-the-art, 2000-watt Musco MIRTRAN 1- piece, self-contained metal halide bulb and multiple mirror fixtures to come out of Musco Lighting's Oskaloosa, IA production facility are now in place at Richmond. Placement of the new Musco interior RIR fixtures begins at the end of the pit road, continuing through turns 1 & 2, down the inside backstretch, and through the inside of turns 3 & 4. Covered by new U.S. Patents #5,337,221 and #5,343,374 (with other U.S. Patents Pending) the new Musco MIRTRAN lights complete Richmond's multi-million dollar illumination system, the sports world's most modern. Totally unlike any other previous racetrack interior light, the MIRTRAN system is unique in its 1-piece design. The completion of the RIR system eliminates the need for portable lighting and will provide the world's best television illumination. "We're proud to again be at the forefront of world auto racing by introducing new and innovative techniques not yet thought of by others that showcase our events, entertain our fans, and provide bigger worldwide audiences for competitors and sponsors," Sawyer proclaimed.
