Brilliant win of Duarte Felix da Costa at Estoril

Last weekend the PTCC (Portuguese Touring Car Championship) had the first round at Estoril. Duarte Felix da Costa was the brilliant winner of the first race, having dominated from the first lap to the end and also made the best lap of the race. This together with a 3rd place on second race puts him on top of the championship.

Starting from the first row together with Cesar Campanico, Duarte showed early that he was there to fight for the win, overtaking his rival on the first lap and dominating until the end of the 12 laps: ""I knew I had a really good set up for the first few laps so I push really hard to overtake Cesar and from mid to the end of the race I just control the rhythm, without taking any risks. I am really happy with this result, we worked a lot to be able to be on top here, in front of the BMW S2000, which are much quicker than us", said the Portuguese driver at the end.

On the second race, the 23 year old driver started from 8th (reverse grid for the first 8 of race one) and lap by lap, with some overtaking full of claw Duarte finished again on the podium, this time on 3rd position.

With this result Duarte Felix da Costa is the first leader of the PTCC in 2009, but he is still to confirm if he will attend the whole championship. The Portuguese driver that in 2008 raced at Monza on WTCC is negotiating some proposals for the present season and soon will announce his program.
