BRILJANT VICTORY FOR PATRICK HUISMAN AT SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS!

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, 16 SEPTEMBER 2007 - During the last race of the Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup at Spa-Francorchamps Patrick Huisman scored his first win of the season. By passing both pole man Jeroen Bleekemolen and reigning champion Richard Westbrook in spectacular fashion Huisman was able to cross the line in first place. It was already his 24th win in his impressive career in the Porsche Supercup. With the twenty points earned today the Dutchman went from sixth to fourth in the final standings with 107 points. With some mediocre races in the Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup 'Mister Porsche' ended the season with this result positively. Next week Huisman will compete in the 24-hour race of Oschersleben as preparation for the prestigious American Rolex Series which will take place later this year.

FREE PRACTICE + QUALIFYING:

Under excellent weather conditions free pratice took place on Friday afternoon. Huisman went out on old tires and checked out the places which have been changed on the legendary track. Despite some understeer the number 11 car driver was sixth with a lap of 2:27.176. During qualifying the Konrad Motorsport driver tried to improve his performance. After the Formula 1 cars put rubber on the track Huisman went out with new tires. It needed to happen in the first lap since that was the moment when the best times were set. Huisman ended in third place and even spared an extra set of tires for the race.

RACE:

With an excellent third qualifying position Huisman already had a good starting point for the eleven lap race. After the lights turned green Huisman got away well and was able to outbrake Richard Westbrook before 'La Source Hairpin'. At Raidillon pole sitter Jeroen Bleekemolen underwent the same faith when Huisman passed him too. Patrick increased his lead lap after lap. Fellow Dutchman Bleekemolen came closer during the final stages of the race but Huisman's lead was never challenged. This was already his fourth win in the Porsche Supercup in the Belgian Ardennes!

PATRICK HUISMAN: "It is fantastic to win here. I had a great start and could pass Jeroen on the outside of Raidillon. After that I controlled my lead and took the win, It had been a difficult season in which we were not always competitive. We did not test much and our setups were not always the best. Luckily this win makes up a lot. Thanks to this win I passed Christian Menzel and Alessandro Zampedri in the championship. I will start the winter season with a good feeling!"
