Ricciardello all the way in heat two.

Following overnight repairs to a broken gearbox, Tony Ricciardello has come out this morning and won heat two of the second round of the Australian Sports Sedan Championship at Oran Park.

His Chev-powered Alfa Romeo started on pole position and was never headed, taking the win clear of the championship leader Darren Hossack in a similarly engined Saab.

New Zealander Andrew Fawcett started well, holding third in his non-championship TRANZAM Jaguar until a clash with the Jaguar of Daniel Jameson pushed the Kiwi back towards the rear of the field.

Jameson was able to hold third for the remainder of the race, mindful of the close attention of Des Wall and Tony Wilson for much of the race. In the concluding laps the respective Supra/Chev and Commodore were caught and passed by Mark Stinson in his Calibra/Chev.

Seventh across the line was the Dean Randle whose Saab/Chev was involved in a race-ending incident with Terry Shiel's Mazda/Nissan in heat one. Randle held off the Nissan/Chev of Kerry Baily which started from the rear of the grid while Shiel finished ahead of Fawcet.

Meanwhile there was a great battle for eleventh where Glenn Taylor's Commodore just edged out Mick Monterosso's Escort/Chev and the Pontiac of Jeff Barnes. <pre> Australian Sports Sedans Championship Round Two Heat Two (8 Laps) Results
