OPEN TRACK DAY AT GINGERMAN RACEWAY, APRIL 12, 1997

Attn: Race Driver Wannabees- Saturday, April 12, 1997 will be an open track day at GingerMan Raceway, South Haven, Michigan. It's your chance to run flat out on a real race course. No cops, no drunks, no oncoming traffic - just you and your car sweeping around turns, up and down hills and blasting down straights.

The southwestern Michigan track is a 1.9 mile long asphalt road course. The track was new last year and has been well-rated for safety and fun. Several professional Indy car race teams use it for testing and practice.

This day is tailored to novice track runners in safe and suitable street cars. The day will start with track driving instruction by experienced race drivers, followed by open track practices. Cars will be grouped by speed to minimize blocking and passing. No pickups, vans or SUVs may run. There will be a tightly controlled group for open sports cars and convertibles without roll bars.

Cost for the full day program, including instruction, is $75 per driver. A limited speed track cruise at lunch time is available for $25 per car. Extra crew, spectators and guests are $10 each. Pre-Registration is suggested as participation will be limited. Drivers must have an entry form before the event so that they can have their cars properly prepared with good brakes, tires and suspension and obtain an approved helmet.

The open track day is presented by GingerMan Raceway and managed by Speed Merchants Ltd. For an entry form or further information, send a business sized SASE to: GingerMan Raceway Open Track Day, 147 S. Winston Drive, Palatine IL 60067.
