Caltex Racing Fords qualify strongly

The momentum continued for Caltex Racing Ford Falcon drivers Angus Fogg and Paul Pedersen on the first day of competition at the fourth round of the Parker ENZED New Zealand V8 Touring Car Championship at Invercargill's Teretonga Park this today.

Fogg and Pedersen qualified within two tenths of a second of each other to start the first of tomorrow's three races on the third and fourth row of the grid respectively.

It was another strong showing from the two Caltex Racing Ford Falcon drivers which came on top of a similarly impressive showing in the test session earlier the afternoon.

In that Paul Pedersen set the fourth fastest time, Angus Fogg the sixth fastest time.

Holden Commodore driver Kayne Scott was fastest in both sessions and will start tomorrow's first race from pole position. Alongside him will be championship leader Wade Henshaw, also in a Holden Commodore.

Sharing the second row will be Timaru round winner John McIntyre in the first of the Ford Falcons and former class champion Paul Manuell.

Angus Fogg will share the third row of the grid with fellow Ford Falcon driver Shane Drake with Paul Pedersen sharing the fourth row with defending Parker ENZED series champion Andy Booth.

There are three races for the 38-strong Parker ENZED New Zealand V8 Touring Car Championship cars at Teretonga Park tomorrow. This weekend's meeting enjoys a slightly different format to others on the Mike Pero Mortgages Motorsport Series roster, with a late start (1.00pm) and finish (9.00pm) today to facilitate a 50 minute twilight endurance race for the Battery Town Porsche GT3 Cup Championship.
