CHANGES TO THE AUSTRALIAN MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS TEAM

Two changes have been made to the Australian Motocross of Nations team that will take part in the 2006 event at Matterley Basin in Winchester, England, from September 23-24.

While Chad Reed, Michael Byrne and Brett Metcalfe where initially named in the team, Reed and Byrne have had to pull out which has paved the way for the addition to the squad of Daniel Reardon and Cheyne Boyd.

Reed dislocated his shoulder during last weekend's AMA Motocross National Series event and will now undergo season ending surgery.

It is understood that Byrne has had several problems with the status of his Green Card in the US and will unfortunately be unable to compete.

Reardon finished an impressive second in this year's Australian Motocross Championship finishing just two points behind winner Craig Anderson, and 58 points clear of third place.

Boyd also competed in the 2006 Australian Motocross Championship finishing the series in sixth place overall with some strong results posted in the latter rounds of competition.

Metcalfe has been performing particularly well recently in the Lites division of the AMA Motocross Nationals Series in America.

Australia's best placing in the 59 years of the running of the event was back in 1988 when they finished in fourth.
