Mark Fish Motorsport swept the board during Saturday's BARC annual awards dinner, claiming two of the prestigious trophies for their success in the Elf Clio Renaultsport UK Cup.

By far one of the most successful and respected teams in the paddock, Mark Fish Motorsport sprinted to Clio Cup victory with an impressive five race victories and numerous pole and podium positions for Edwards Jnr and Fulham-based ace, Rick Pearson. During the last five rounds, Edwards Jnr and Pearson locked out the front row with no less than three 1-2 qualifying results.

Team principal, Mark Fish received the Renault Clio team trophy on behalf of his Essex-based squad, whom he later thanked for their dedication and hard work during the season. "It was with a great sense of pride and satisfaction that I received the award," he commented.

"The team have worked tremendously hard all year and this is a perfect 'thank you' for that dedication. We came into the championship at the beginning of the season with high expectations; to win both the driver and team titles was a dream come true.

"From a team perspective, it was extremely rewarding to witness Jim Edwards Jnr accept the Clio Cup drivers trophy. Both Jim and Rick performed faultlessly throughout the year so the two trophies are just rewards."

Maidstone-based, Edwards Jnr echoed Fish's sentiments, " I was delighted to receive the Elf Clio Renaultsport UK Cup drivers award," he said. "It was great to see Mark collect the team trophy on behalf of Mark Fish Motorsport, all of whom expended a considerable amount of effort during the 2000 season."
