The South African circuit has a new owner after an auction last week.
The famous Kyalami race track has a new owner and its name their Porsche. The South African racing circuit (located in the province of Gauteng) was just purchased by Porsche for 19.5 million dollars.
The track is well-known throughout the motorsports world, playing host to a number of notable races, including 20 Formula One Grand Prixs throughout four different decades.
The circuit was auctioned off last week and Toby Venter's (Porsche South Africa CEO) was the man who placed the winning bid, doing so via phone. It is unsure what Porsche's plans are for Kyalami, but their purchase has erased concerns that the track would end up being destroyed and the property used for other purposes.
