Julian Bailey, the former Tyrrell Grand Prix driver, will be at the wheel of the Toyota Dealer Team's Minolta Camry for Rounds 17 and 18 of the AA Fleetcare Super Touring Championship, to be held at the East London Grand Prix circuit on August 5.

Bailey, who usually drives a Carina for Toyota Great Britain in the British Touring Car Championship, has been brought in to replace Mike White, who has been banned for two races by AA Motorsport. The ban resulted from an incident involving White's Camry and the BMW of German woman driver Sabine Reck in Cape Town on May 20 - Reck returning to the track for the first time since the incident at East London.

"We believe Bailey will provide an excellent 'benchmark' for us with evaluating our Camry, as he has had extensive racing experience and is involved virtually full time with the British Toyota Super Touring team," said Whammy Haddad, Toyota's Motor Sport Manager, in announcing Bailey's participation in the East London Races.

The East London rounds will also see the first use by the Rothmans Audi team of a sequential gearbox, the unit having been fitted to the Terry Moss car.
